Home Assistant

Notifications from automations and scripts. Make an app for Home Assistant in bzzd, then follow these steps.

Set it up

APP_TOKEN stands for your app's token. Once you've made the app, bzzd shows these steps with it filled in.

Add a notifier to configuration.yaml, then restart Home Assistant:

notify:
  - platform: rest
    name: bzzd
    method: POST_JSON
    resource: https://api.bzzd.io/v1/hooks/APP_TOKEN
Resource
https://api.bzzd.io/v1/hooks/APP_TOKEN

Then call notify.bzzd from an automation, with a message and an optional title. Add data: {priority: 1} for high priority.

Good to know

  • Every alert goes to all your devices; an app you share also reaches the people you share it with.
  • Things that look like passwords or tokens in an alert are hidden before it's saved.
  • The webhook URL also takes bzzd's own fields, so you can post your own messages to it. See Sending messages.
